Summary of the Laptop vs. Desktop Computers and 5 Things that Work in All Applications videos

Notebooks are very portable and do not usually need accessories plugged into them to function. The term desktop can refer to multiple things but overall they are not suppose to be portable. Desktops and notebooks have about the same amount of power but, one would have to pay more for a notebook. Desktops can have more expansion ports but the screen will need to be bought separately, so both factors in to be taken into account before buying one or the other. Finally, the ipad should not be used as the main device someone works on because it does not have the same amount of power as a notebook or desktop.

The 5 things discussed in this video are file menus, cut-copy-paste, undo & redo, preference menus and the help menu. All file menus include commands like new file, save and print. Cut, copy and paste can be found in all applications usually under edit and those commands will work for text and images. Practically all applications have an undo button but not all have a redo button. In some applications the redo button can be used to apply the same changes to multiple areas. All applications have preference menus but within windows it may be called options or located in other areas. Lastly, every application has a help menu that includes instructions, tutorials and gives the user the ability to check for updates.
